After graduating from Brooklyn Law School in 1972, Mr. Lefkowitz was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1973 and to the New Jersey Bar in 1983. Mr. Lefkowitz has been admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits; the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey; and the United States Tax Court. Mr. Lefkowitz maintains affiliations with national state and local bar associations and has been a chairman and member of committees of those bar groups.

Mr. Lefkowitz began his career at the Corporation Counsel of the City of New York in that agency’s Honors Program. Assigned to the Appeals Division of the Corporation Counsel, Mr. Lefkowitz successfully argued certain significant appeals on behalf of the City of New York in the highest State and Federal appellate courts. Those appellate decisions have been periodically cited by the courts as precedent.

In private practice, Mr. Lefkowitz continued his litigation practice in both the state and federal trial and appellate levels and further developed his skills in the practice areas which are described herein. Since 2010, Mr. Lefkowitz has conducted numerous mediations as a mediator, assigned by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program of the Commercial Division of the New York Supreme Court. He has also participated in and conducted mediations and arbitrations in his private practice.

Mr. Lefkowitz has also concentrated in recent years in wills, trusts and the preparation of estate documents for clients of all diverse backgrounds, young, middle aged and elderly.
